Truth & Reconciliation Work 2026

TRW 2026 – Partition of Nations

Since 2020, Truth and Reconciliation Work (TRW) has served as a people’s response to collective trauma and the urgent need for healing in a deeply divided world. Born in the wake of global crises and injustices, this self-organizing movement invites citizens everywhere to take responsibility for addressing and healing collective wounds.

This year’s focus was the Partition of Nations, with a special focus on that of India —one of the most profound and painful events in modern history. Partition is not merely a geopolitical division, but a deeply human tragedy that displaces millions, fractures communities, and leaves enduring scars across generations. Its legacy continues to shape identities, relationships, and narratives across borders, religions, and cultures.

At the heart of this theme lies an exploration of intergenerational and ideological trauma—held within communities that experienced loss and those shaped by inherited narratives of separation. By acknowledging the pain, complexity, and shared humanity within these histories, we open the possibility for deeper understanding, compassion, and reconciliation.

By coming together and focusing our collective intention on truth, remembrance, and healing—from the inside out—we can begin to transform inherited divisions into pathways of connection. Your participation, whether through hosting dialogues, sharing stories, or amplifying awareness, plays a vital role in this collective journey.

Together, we remember. Together, we heal. Together, we reimagine a more just, compassionate, and unified world.
