Althea Banda-Hansmann and Dorcas Cyster

Althea Banda-Hansmann and Dorcas Cyster have been friends and colleagues for the past 38 years. Their work grows out of a vocational responsiveness to racial healing, social change and equity.

Althea Banda-Hansmann is the Founding Director of Transforming Moments Consulting where she specialises in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), race-work, coaching, facilitation, organisational development and spiritual direction. Her formative experience growing up under Apartheid South Africa and in the US shaped her healing from racism practice. She works with individuals, groups and organisations supporting them to become the self, the leaders, the team and the institutions they long for.

Dorcas Cyster is a retired Registered Nurse.  For most of her life, she has lived and worked among under-served populations in Jackson, Mississippi and Cape Town, South Africa.  For the past 20 plus years she has worked in Lancaster, PA, working with women’s health.  Her experience in working with diverse peers and leaders have afforded her the ability to practice cultural humility and earn trust.  She currently practices Spiritual Direction, incorporating it with emotional and physical health.
