Gitika Talwar

Gitika Talwar (she/her/we/us pronouns) is a Community Clinical Psychologist who is a former international student from India. Gitika earned her PhD from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and is the Founder of Pranh Healing & Wellness, PLLC. A trauma-informed, liberation focussed Psychologist, Gitika remains committed to the decolonization of mental health practices beginning with disrupting the cultural appropriation of ancestral wisdom. Gitika has served on Dr Thema Bryant’s APA Presidential Taskforce on Decolonial and Liberation Psychologies.

Having served immigrant communities as a therapist and a bipartisan immigration activist, Gitika is attentive to the historic (past/present) backdrop to the immigration experience within the settler-colony now known as the United States.
