Healing Our Stories: Wisdom from Africa

Healing

Join us for an enriching session with Princess Abumbi Prudence, a prominent indigenous leader from Cameroon, dedicated to empowering women and youth. As the coordinator of Better World Cameroon, she leads the reconstruction of the Bafut ecovillage and advocates for integrating indigenous wisdom into climate initiatives.

In our session themed “Healing our Stories,” Princess Prudence will share her journey, detailing how she became an advocate for women and youth. She will explore the significance of storytelling in healing communities and discuss the themes of truth, reconciliation, and healing in her work, particularly within the Bafut ecovillage.

The speakers will address the challenges of fostering reconciliation and healing in communities affected by trauma and conflict. Princess Prudence will share insights on the impacts of colonial history on the Bafut community and how she addresses historical trauma through her initiatives.

The session will also explore the vital roles of youth in leading societal change, the influence of gender equality on human rights, and the negative effects of racism on reconciliation efforts.

Join us for this thought-provoking session to learn, reflect, and contribute to healing our stories and building resilient communities.
